Emerging business models for print around the globe

The first IFRA report on Separation of Publishing and Printing was published in 2006 and now in 2015, a new report is published that presents the case of new and successful business cases across the globe. Mr. Balaji, Director of World Printers Forum made a speech about the report at the ANP 2015 conference in Bangkok, organised by the ASEAN Newspaper Printers Association.

The report presents seven different business cases for printing plants

1. Printing plants operates as separate profit centres

2. Printing plants owned by the publisher but operated by an external operator

3. A Service company that operates printing plants of publishers

4. Joint venture between two publishers

5. Independent printer, who print jobs from any publisher

6. Publisher outsourcing his print runs

7. Printer, who has extended his operations to accept print jobs ordered online

Mr. Balaji presented the business case behind each of these business models, challenges and opportunities.
