Unit of Ink mileage as Sq.m/gram ;

  Like reel mileage calculation in Newspaper printing, we can say ink mileage as pages / kg, for example 94,500 pg/kg of ink - from this we understood 1 kg of ink is used for production of 94,500 pages. Now convert pages to square meter 94500 pg * 0.190008 (product size) = 17955 m²/kg of ink (Divide both numerator and denominator with 1000, Note: 1 kg = 1000 g).  We can simplify this to 17.955 m²/grams of ink for our convenient, so this small number 17.955 when round-off 18 m²/g that can be remember and communicate easily by us. Now changes can be identify quickly as 18.00, 17.75, 17.50 (in m²/g) and fixing tolerance setting max. and min. with target in easy way.    Now let me say for example average data for ink mileage this month is => C - 18.02 ; M - 15.61 ; Y- 13.12 and K - 7.151 (m²/g);   So, SMG - Square meter per gram method is a perfect solution to consider as unit of Ink mileage calculation for Newspaper production as it is simple natural numbers easy to remember.       https://sites.google.com/view/guhansk/newsprint-ink/ink-mileage            Here I have provided ink mileage online calculator based on average image value..     https://sites.google.com/view/guhansk/newsprint-ink/ink-mileage#h.p_gxEF...        Regards,   Guhan S K Kochi - INDIA
